Been advertising in Yellow Pages for about 25 years.Had face to face meeting with yell rep in February, booked and received receipts for next years advertising.
Received an email from Yell, “Order Confirmation”, for Yell Search Marketing Service at a cost of £45.83 a month. Didn’t even know what this was !
Rang to query, said I’d never discussed or wanted this order.
Told not to worry would be sorted out,a mistake somewhere.
Next Yell.Com get my bank account details from Yellow Pages and set up a direct debit and start raiding my bank account.
Ring to sort it out.Told I made a verbal agreement with the rep.for this order which is an absolute lie.Told the phone call I made when I was assured it would be sorted out never happened.
As I am obviously suffering from auditory hallucinations and short term memory loss had to ask the Yell.Com manager if I had also made a verbal agreement for them to **** ** **** ** *** ****.

Hi, I am but another mug on yells hitlist!! First I was called by Damien McCambridge(sales snake) and told that if I was to advertise with yell.com 24/7 he guarantees that of the 3000 enquiries per month for builders I would be in top 10% !!!Had no calls in first couple of weeks so phoned yell and cancelled no probs. When I arrived back from holiday having had no correspondence I chased them up , they denied I had cancelled(didn’t have a name or cancellation number )however instead of recognising from my emails that I had cancelled and still wanted to get a cancellation they kept sending standard emails”We are sorry that you are unhappy with yell.com“etc NOT ONE acknowledging the CANCELLATION until the order went “LIVE” WHICH WAS THEN TOO LATE!!!!! I emailed the CEO Jon Condron / Fobbed Off until they passed my details to Moorcroft Debt Collection Agency with whom I am stalling until I get my Dispute with Yell resolved.£740 debt! mis sold due to their word against mine!

A month ago we were contacted by a Yell sales rep offering a free trial. Today it is finally resolved, with apologies and have an ad hoc letter being sent confirming the cancellation from an assistant to the CEO John Condron.
My advice would be dont touch them with a bargepole, however if you have been tricked…
1) keep a note of everything and names of everyone you speak to – including dates and times.
2) print out emails you receive from them, they have a tendency to disappear from the inbox after they’ve been read.
3) cc all letters/emails to watchdog, trading standards and ofcom.
4) don’t complain via their onsite contact us facility – you’ll have no copy for your records.
5) don’t give up!!!
